How to secure daytime healing with Font of Life in The Blood of Dawnwalker
Complete Where Old Devils Lie and Stronger Than Achilles, then take the Font instead of giving it to Anca or destroying it.

The Font of Life perk gives Coen passive health regeneration during the daytime in The Blood of Dawnwalker. It can make longer fights easier and reduce how many healing consumables you need, but one decision determines whether you receive the perk at all.
To claim Font of Life, you must complete both Where Old Devils Lie and Stronger Than Achilles. The two-part quest becomes available after you finish the convent questline with Anca, and it combines investigation, combat, and a little interaction with mysterious pillars.
How to unlock Font of Life
Begin by completing the convent questline involving Anca. Once the related quests are available, finish Where Old Devils Lie followed by Stronger Than Achilles. The perk is not awarded automatically at the end, so pay close attention to the final choice.
At the conclusion of Stronger Than Achilles, you can decide what happens to the Font. Choose the option to take it for yourself to unlock the Font of Life perk. The other choices lead to different rewards:
- Take the Font: Unlocks the Font of Life perk.
- Give the Font to Anca: Provides no reward.
- Destroy the Font: Awards the Ancient Greaves.
The quest also rewards Coen with the legendary light chestpiece Runic Enchantment. Destroying the Font can help if you are trying to build a full legendary set early, since the Ancient Greaves become available instead. For most players, though, the daytime health regeneration offers the more useful long-term benefit, particularly during extended battles in Coen’s human form.
There is no major story punishment for any of the three decisions, and Anca accepts Coen’s reasoning regardless of the outcome. Your choice mainly comes down to whether you want passive healing or the extra legendary armor piece.
Choose carefully before leaving the final encounter, since selecting another option locks Font of Life out for the rest of that playthrough. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
