The Blood of Dawnwalker arrives on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC on Sept. 3, putting Coen under a 30-day deadline to save his family and challenge the vampire ruler Brencis. Rebel Wolves’ action role-playing game turns its day-night cycle into a choice between human skills and vampiric powers.
The launch trailer follows Coen’s transformation and the threat waiting for him in Vale Sangora.
Steam and GOG had the PC version scheduled for Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. ET, ahead of today’s Xbox release. Our PC launch coverage also noted an early 83 Metascore alongside that timing.
The standard edition appears on the Xbox product listing at $69.99. The $79.99 Eclipse Edition adds a Digital World Compendium, digital soundtrack, and digital comic book through its separate listing.
Coen’s deadline begins in Vale Sangora
Xbox Wire’s launch announcement places the story in 14th-century Europe, where the Black Death has weakened the region and vampires have seized control. In the isolated Vale Sangora, the vrakhiri appear to protect people from the plague, but they collect a blood tithe once night falls.
Brencis turns Coen after his rebellion against the vampire masters, but the transformation does not make him obedient. Coen remains human by day and becomes a vampire at night, with each side offering a different set of abilities. His human form uses a sword and magic, while his vampire side brings claws and supernatural skills.
Brencis plans to execute Coen’s family and village in 30 days as part of his coronation. Quests and other major actions move the clock forward, so players will not have time to help everyone in the valley. Building trust with the human rebels, gathering resources, and choosing which problems to address all become part of the race against the deadline.
Silver is one of the rebellion’s most useful resources because it harms the vrakhiri. Coen can search the mines around Laslea and the caves beneath Svartrau for enough of it to improve the rebels’ weapons, though the deeper areas are guarded by dangerous creatures.

Vampires are not the only threat in Vale Sangora. Tatzelwurms haunt the swamps, Kobolds occupy caves and mines, and ancient ruins hide witchcraft secrets. Coen’s choices can lead him toward the sword, magic, vampiric abilities, or a mixture of all three as he decides how much of his humanity to keep.
