The game launched on PC on Sept. 2 before arriving on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox on PC on Sept. 3. That staggered release placed the sales milestone two days after the game reached consoles.
Set in a dark open world ruled by vampires, The Blood of Dawnwalker is Rebel Wolves’ debut intellectual property. The studio’s team includes former developers of The Witcher, giving the project a clear connection to one of the best-known modern fantasy RPG series.
Coen has roughly 30 days to save his family from Knyaz Brencis. That deadline is tied to the game’s day-night cycle and the choices players make throughout the campaign, while the cycle lets them draw on human skills or vampiric powers.
At the time of the announcement, SteamDB’s player charts showed a peak of 65,433 concurrent players on Steam. Rebel Wolves has not provided a breakdown of sales by platform, so the million-copy figure currently represents the combined result across the game’s launch platforms.
