War Thunder is opening a summer custom camouflage contest on WT Live, and creators can submit entries from July 1 through August 15.
The contest is the first in a new recurring series, with 10 prize spots in play and a chance for standout work to feed into future custom camouflage Trophies. Gaijin Entertainment also says strong entries may help authors qualify for the royalty program if their work makes the cut.

Vehicles in the first round
This opening contest focuses on historical and semi-historical camouflages for a specific set of vehicles:
- USA: YAH-64, M36 GMC
- USSR: T-44-100, T-55AMD-1
- Germany: Me 262 A-1a/U1, Panzer IV/70(V)
- Great Britain: Sea Harrier FRS.1, Centurion Mk.1
- Japan: M24 (Japan), Ki-44-I
- France: ARL-44, F6F-5 (France)
- China: Object 122TM “MC”, P-47D-23-RA (China)
- Sweden: MiG-21bis (Finland)
- Italy: Turan III
How the contest works
Entries must use the #summer_camo_contest tag, and each one needs either historical photos or a text note that explains the real-world camouflage or inspiration behind it. New work is allowed, and older camouflages can also be entered if they have been reworked specifically for this event.
Submissions open on July 1 and close on August 15 at 20:59 GMT. Gaijin says the results will be published within a week after the deadline. The judging panel will look at texture quality, historical accuracy, and attention to detail, with good screenshots counted as a bonus. Players can submit as many entries as they want, but each author can receive only one prize.
Prize pool
- 1st place: Any pack from the store
- 2nd place: A store pack worth up to 70€
- 3rd place: A store pack worth up to 50€
- 4th to 10th place: 5,000 Golden Eagles
