Pokémon’s New Aardman Series Is Coming Exclusively to Disney+
The series follows Sirfetch'd and Pichu through Galar, with a new trailer introducing Impidimp, Appletun, and other Pokémon.
Pokémon is heading to Disney+ in a new animated adventure. The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu will stream exclusively on Disney+, giving the upcoming Aardman production a home outside the usual Pokémon game and anime releases.
The announcement came during PokémonXP, a fan convention held alongside the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. Aardman and The Pokémon Company also presented a new trailer for the series, offering another look at Sirfetch’d and Pichu’s journey through the Galar region.
Sirfetch’d and Pichu take on Galar
The show centers on Sirfetch’d and Pichu as they travel through Galar, the region introduced in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Sirfetch’d also made its debut in those games as the evolved form of Farfetch’d, so the series is giving one of Galar’s most memorable Pokémon a starring role.
Their missions will involve helping and protecting Pokémon across the region, although the pair will not have an easy time keeping every heroic plan on track. The story description teases dangerous situations, rivalries, alliances, unusual Pokémon, and plenty of comedy as the two friends head into the unknown together.
Newly revealed Pokémon include Impidimp and Appletun. Aardman is best known for animated projects such as Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Timmy Time, and Morph, making its take on Galar a playful match for the series’ unusual pair of heroes.
Phil Rynda, director of Original Animation at The Pokémon Company International, said the series tells adventurous and heroic stories from the Pokémon perspective. He also praised Aardman’s work bringing Galar to life, from its landscapes to the world’s Pokémon characters.
The Pokémon Company has not announced a release date for The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu yet, but Disney+ will be its exclusive streaming home when the series arrives.
