Arc System Works Says Winning Back Marvel Tokon’s PC Players Won’t Be Easy

Producer Takeshi Yamanaka said the team has already released 2 urgent patches, including one that improved the game's CPU processing load.

Arc System Works is still dealing with the fallout from Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls‘ troubled PC launch, and producer Takeshi Yamanaka said rebuilding player trust will be “extremely challenging.” In comments to Video Games Chronicle for a forthcoming interview, Yamanaka apologized to players affected by the problems.

The fighter launched on PS5 and PC on August 6, 2026. Early PC complaints included low frame rates and trouble starting the game, issues that made an especially rough first impression for a title built around precise fighting-game timing. The game’s PC performance problems were visible from its first days on Steam.

Yamanaka said the team has seen a positive response to the game’s content on console, with players regularly competing in matches, practicing in training mode, and sharing new combos online. The PC version has been a different story, however, with many players running into in-game problems.

Arc System Works has already released 2 urgent patches. According to Yamanaka, the latest patch greatly improved the issue involving CPU processing load, though the team is still working on other problems affecting PC players.

Steam’s response remains mixed. Just 47% of English-language reviews currently recommend Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. The game reached a launch peak of more than 24,000 concurrent players, while SteamDB’s charts showed around 4,000 daily concurrent users at the time of reporting.

Yamanaka acknowledged that some PC customers were unable to experience the game properly, with some leaving for the moment or requesting refunds. He said regaining the confidence lost during the launch will not be simple, but Arc System Works plans to keep improving the game and provide a smoother experience than the initial version.
