Death Stranding 2’s 1.6 update is all about cleanup on PC
Nixxes Software and Kojima Productions say update 1.6 fixes post-1.5 freezes, lowers CPU usage during the Lord of the Tar Lake fight, and corrects a crash in the Map Icon filter menu.

Nixxes Software and Kojima Productions have released Title Update 1.6 for Death Stranding 2, and this patch is focused on cleaning up stability problems on PC. It fixes temporary freezes that some players saw after last week’s 1.5 update, trims CPU usage during the Lord of the Tar Lake boss fight, and addresses a handful of smaller issues.
The update also fixes a crash that could happen when clicking the empty tab header in the Map Icon filter menu, corrects the jittery eyelashes bug affecting Higgs and Heartman when upscaling quality was set to Performance, and makes Epic Games Store usernames with spaces display correctly. Steam will grab the patch the next time the client launches, and the notes below also call out UI and Steam Input fixes.
For more context on how the PC version has been improving, patch 1.2 improved Steam Deck support earlier this month.
