Publishing involvement is not the same as platform availability. The announcement confirms Xbox’s role in publishing PHYSINT, but it does not by itself confirm that the game will launch on Xbox.
PHYSINT was previously described as a PlayStation espionage project in an earlier report. Xbox’s involvement gives the game a clear connection to the company, while the available announcement does not establish a change to its previously reported platform context.
The expanded relationship also reaches beyond PHYSINT. Xbox and KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS described the arrangement as an extension of their existing work on OD, along with plans to develop new stories for film and television.
Hideo Kojima called the agreement an expansion of the companies’ relationship beyond OD. “This expands our relationship with XBOX beyond OD,” he said, while describing PHYSINT as part of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS’ continued work in the action-espionage genre.
Asha Sharma, XBOX CEO, said Kojima’s decision to work with Xbox reflects the creative ambition the company wants to support. The announcement did not include a release date for PHYSINT.
An earlier cast reveal attached Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe to the project. Xbox’s expanded role now gives PHYSINT a different publishing path while KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS continues development.
Xbox and KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS did not share further details about the film and television projects. For now, the announcement establishes a broader creative relationship, not a confirmed Xbox release for PHYSINT.
