War Thunder Update 2.57.1.83 Put Missile Guidance Back on Target
The patch also corrected naval crew counts, replay controls, graphics settings, and the button used to deploy nuclear aircraft.

War Thunder Update 2.57.1.83 fixed a group of aircraft, naval, interface, and graphics issues on August 12. Gaijin Entertainment’s Steam announcement highlighted corrections to rocket-launch indicators, ESM and radar missile guidance, replay controls, and nuclear aircraft deployment.
The most gameplay-focused changes affect aircraft weapons. The interface now correctly identifies which side will launch the next rocket, while a separate missile correction prevents Electronic Support Measures from interfering with semi-active radar homing guidance.
Missile guidance no longer inherits ESM’s limits
Aircraft carrying two rockets on the same hardpoint could show the wrong launch side in both the top-left HUD indicator and the weapon selector at the bottom of the screen. The game already prevented the upper rocket from firing before the lower one, but the interface did not always reflect that rule. Both displays were corrected.

Another fix addresses the relationship between Electronic Support Measures and semi-active radar homing missiles. ESM is intended to guide anti-radiation missiles, but an error caused its scan angles to affect SARH weapons as well. When a target moved outside those angles, the missile could abandon its lock and fall back to inertial and data link guidance.
The proximity fuze logic also used the aircraft’s center point instead of the precise area that triggered the sensor. That could delay detonation, allowing a missile to pass through its target and deal only kinetic damage. The calculation now uses the correct point on the aircraft, so the warhead can detonate at the proper moment.
Replay controls and nuclear aircraft access are back
Replay viewers received several interface corrections. The cursor no longer remains visible when the interface is hidden or when players use the screenshot option without the interface. Server replays also received a fix for a cache-related problem that prevented mouse clicks from switching to another player’s camera view.
The button for switching to a nuclear-armed aircraft in Ground Battles has returned as well. Once enough spawn points have been earned, players can deploy the aircraft without leaving their current vehicle.
Other cleanup includes a clearer frame around the selected crew slot, restored access to the Shadow Quality and Effect Quality settings, and a ray-tracing fix that stops tree shadows from jittering across the ground as the camera moves. Update 2.57.1.83 follows the recent 2.57.1.81 missile fix pass, which addressed several related aircraft and weapon issues.
