War Thunder’s Niobe Day offer cuts HMCS Haida by 30%, bringing the destroyer to 3,416 Golden Eagles. The promotion runs from October 21 at 13:00 GMT through October 24 at 13:00 GMT, according to Gaijin’s Steam announcement.
Niobe Day commemorates October 21, 1910, when the cruiser HMCS Niobe arrived in Halifax as the first ship of the newly established Canadian Navy. Canadian sailors observe the date as their professional holiday. The navy later escorted convoys during the Second World War and patrolled the North Atlantic during the Cold War.
HMCS Haida is available under Great Britain > Bluewater fleet > Premium vehicles, and it can only be purchased during the promotion. The destroyer saw combat in both the Second World War and the Korean War. Its armament includes six 120 mm guns, four 40 mm autocannons, six twin 20 mm Oerlikon mounts, four 533 mm torpedoes and two depth charges.
