War Thunder Update 2.57.1.81 Takes Aim at Missile Guidance Bugs

The changelog also fixes a Prinz Eugen turret-ring damage-model issue and a Scout UAV control bug during test drives.

Gaijin Entertainment published the Steam announcement for War Thunder Update 2.57.1.81 on August 11. The patch focuses on missile behavior and aircraft equipment, while also correcting a naval damage-model issue, an interface error, Mac graphics, and Scout UAV controls.

The most consequential fixes affect ARH and SARH missiles. One bug could cause proximity fuzes to fail when players switched to INS+DL mode, letting missiles pass through aircraft or detonate after flying beyond their targets. Another issue restricted SARH guidance on aircraft with ESM to the area covered by their sensors.

Aircraft weapon releases receive another correction, while the Prinz Eugen gets a fix for turret rings that could pull its damage model away from the ship. The remaining changes clean up an incorrect left-right armament indicator, tree movement at minimum Mac settings, and a test-drive problem that blocked a second switch to the Scout UAV.

War Thunder Update 2.57.1.81 Patch Notes

The aircraft changes cover missile detonation, sensor-assisted guidance, and weapons mounted on a single wing. The full official changelog follows below.

Aircraft

  • A bug where the radio proximity fuzes of ARH and SARH missiles worked incorrectly when switching to INS+DL mode has been fixed. This sometimes caused missiles to pass straight through aircraft without detonating or to explode only after having already flown past the target. (Report).
  • A bug where, on aircraft equipped with ESM capabilities, missile guidance for SARH missiles was limited to the sector covered by the ESM sensors has been fixed. (Report).
  • A bug where weapons that were released simultaneously from both wings were released in pairs even when mounted on only one wing has been fixed. (Report).

Naval Vessels

  • Prinz Eugen — a bug where the turret rings on the first, second and third turrets rotated incorrectly when rotating the main battery turrets, causing their damage model to shift away from the ship has been fixed. (Report).

Interface

  • A bug that caused the side indicator of armament to be displayed incorrectly on the aircraft interface has been fixed. Previously for example, it could have shown L instead of R or vice-versa. (Report).

Graphics

  • A bug where tree trunks swayed along with the foliage on Mac at minimum graphics settings has been fixed.

Controls

  • A bug where it was impossible to switch to the Scout UAV a second time during a test drive has been fixed.
