Modern Warfare 4 Leak Suggests Legacy Warzone Weapons May Carry Forward

The unverified claims also point to DMZ missions and map locations, several multiplayer map assets, and a possible Zodiac Resurgence map.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 may carry more of Warzone’s existing arsenal into its launch than expected. An unverified leak tied to the upcoming shooter claims the MW4 version of Call of Duty: Warzone will keep legacy weapons, while also pointing to a batch of multiplayer and DMZ details.

The information is presented as a possible beta datamine, not an official announcement. It ranges from apparent map assets to DMZ orders, objectives, missions, and points of interest. Every claim remains unverified until an official confirmation arrives.

The timing fits the first beta session, which is scheduled to run through Aug. 25, 2026, with a second open period planned for Aug. 28 through Sept. 1 in Modern Warfare 4’s beta schedule.

Legacy weapons may remain in Warzone at launch

Among the claims, the one with the biggest effect on Warzone is the suggestion that the MW4 version will retain legacy weapons at launch. No individual weapons are named, leaving the size of that carryover unknown.

DMZ receives a much deeper treatment. One post covers orders, objectives, and missions, while two separate entries outline map points of interest and a more detailed second breakdown. The first POI description leaves open whether the entries refer to regions, with the follow-up adding more detail.

A separate post includes a logo and in-game screenshots of a new DMZ and Warzone map. The leak also names Zodiac as an upcoming Resurgence map and offers another look at the map.

Multiplayer map images round out the leak

Multiplayer coverage includes an apparently unreleased Boat map and multiple map overviews. The claims do not include a release order or confirm which beta build, if any, contains the maps.

Earlier claims and a possible Ubisoft Store release

The account’s earlier track record is also part of the discussion. An earlier tease about Black Ops 7 Season 5 maps is presented as accurate before those maps were publicly known, and the previous tease remains available. That history does not verify the Modern Warfare 4 claims.

Another claim about a future Ubisoft Store release has no date or confirmation attached to it. For now, it remains separate from the beta-related details and should be treated as unconfirmed.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is a first-person shooter and the follow-up to Modern Warfare III (2023), continuing the rebooted Modern Warfare storyline. The campaign is set during a North Korean invasion of South Korea and features dual perspectives: a young South Korean soldier named Private Park facing his first combat deployment, and Captain Price operating outside official channels on a personal mission. The game also includes multiplayer with 6v6 core maps, large-scale vehicle combat maps, and a dynamic map system called Kill Block that reshapes layouts between rounds. A DMZ extraction mode is also featured. The game is released exclusively on current-generation platforms and PC.
