Escape From Tarkov “Reserve Expert” Quest Guide
Where to check all five Reserve rooms, which keys you need, and what Ragman requires as a hand-in.
Reserve Expert sends you to five rooms on Reserve. One armory door is unlocked, while the other four rooms require keys. Ragman also requires three Found in Raid armor pieces, so checking the rooms and preparing the hand-in are separate parts of the task.
Requirements and objectives
Reach Loyalty Level 3 with Ragman to receive the quest. This is a trader loyalty requirement, not a stated character-level requirement. Reserve Expert is also required for Kappa.
- Check the first armory in the eastern barracks, Black Pawn.
- Check the duty room in Black Pawn.
- Check the second armory in Black Pawn.
- Check the first armory in the southern barracks, White Pawn.
- Check the second armory in White Pawn.
- Hand over three qualifying armor pieces.
- Optional: locate and obtain any Russian gear in the armory rooms.

The first armory in Black Pawn is behind an unlocked grate door, so it does not need a key. The other four rooms are locked. The quest entry does not mark the keys as requiring Found in Raid status.
How to complete the quest
Eastern barracks, Black Pawn
- First armory: Go to the fourth floor. The grate door is on the side facing Black Bishop, also called School, and is always unlocked.
- Duty room: Go to the third floor and use the RB-OB key on the door on the Black Bishop side.
- Second armory: Go to the second floor and use the RB-ORB3 key on the locked grate door on the Black Bishop side.
Southern barracks, White Pawn
- First armory: On the fourth floor, use the RB-ORB1 key on the locked grate door on the side facing Black Pawn.
- Second armory: On the second floor, use the RB-ORB2 key on the locked grate door on the side facing Black Pawn.
Complete all five room checks, then hand over three total pieces from the listed armor options. The optional objective is to locate and obtain any Russian gear in the armory rooms. No particular item or quantity is named for that optional task.
