Grand Theft Auto VI Will Launch at Local Midnight on November 19
The staggered release begins in New Zealand, while earlier Rockstar guidance scheduled preloading for November 12.
Grand Theft Auto VI is not out yet. Rockstar’s open-world game is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a staggered release planned for midnight local time around the world.
New Zealand will reach that scheduled unlock first. For anyone keeping track from another region, the times below all refer to the New Zealand launch, not the local unlock time in each location.
When New Zealand reaches midnight
| Location and time zone | Time of New Zealand unlock |
|---|---|
| New Zealand (NZDT) | 00:00 NZDT, November 19 |
| United Kingdom (GMT) | 11:00 GMT, November 18 |
| US East Coast (EST) | 06:00 EST, November 18 |
| US West Coast (PST) | 03:00 PST, November 18 |
| Central Europe (CET) | 12:00 CET, November 18 |
| Japan (JST) | 20:00 JST, November 18 |
| India (IST) | 16:30 IST, November 18 |
| US Central (CST) | 05:00 CST, November 18 |
For other regions, the planned release is midnight local time on November 19. The New Zealand time conversions do not establish that players elsewhere can access the game early. Neither the Xbox location-change method nor the New Zealand PS5 account method has been confirmed to provide earlier access.
As of November 3, no PC or Nintendo Switch 2 release has been announced.
Editions and preloading
Rockstar’s July platform guidance scheduled preloading for November 12, giving players a week to download the game before launch. GTA 6 is digital only, so retail boxes will contain a download code rather than a disc. Boxed PS5 download codes in Japan must be redeemed within 170 days of launch.
The Standard Edition costs around $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition costs around $99.99. Ultimate includes extra vehicles, weapons, clothing, tattoos, properties and customization locations. Preorders also include a free month of GTA+, available once the purchase is complete.
