The Outlast Trials Deployed a Sept. 17 Hotfix for Bugs and Crashes
Red Barrels thanked players for reporting issues and pointed them toward official support and feedback channels.

The Outlast Trials deployed a Sept. 17 hotfix aimed at bugs and crashes reported during the Chemical Leak event. Red Barrels confirmed the release in its Sept. 17 Steam announcement and thanked players who had submitted issue reports. The Sept. 11 Chemical Leak hotfix had removed Permanent Damage and No Revive from Escalation while fixing the Kress Twins document, console shuttle audio, menu/loading-screen lockups, and AZERTY keyboard bindings.
The hotfix arrived while the Chemical Leak event is active. The event is scheduled to run through Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. ET, so the stability fixes come during the limited-time event rather than after it ends.
Red Barrels did not name individual fixes, balance changes, or gameplay adjustments in the announcement. For now, the confirmed scope is a bug and crash hotfix, with the developer directing players toward its official support and feedback channels for problems that remain.
