The Outlast Trials Season 7.2 Update Brings Back GEISTER and Launches ESCAPE THE FACILITY

Two new GENESIS MK-Challenges join a reworked Escalation curve, while the Geister Catalog closes Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. ET.

The Outlast Trials Season 7.2 update went live Oct. 20, bringing back the GEISTER Limited-Time Event and starting the ESCAPE THE FACILITY Community Event. Red Barrels’ Oct. 20 Steam announcement also introduces two MK-Challenges, changes to Escalation Therapy, and a Favorites filter for customization items.

GEISTER adds three Variators to Trials: HARVEST ORGAN SAMPLES, HALLUCINATIONS?, and MORE IMPOSTERS. Reagents can search deceased subjects for organ samples, and completing the secondary objective earns extra rewards.

The new GEISTER Catalog offers exclusive rewards in exchange for Event Tokens. It will be removed Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. ET, when the event ends, and any unspent tokens will be forfeited. The earlier Geister 2025 Catalog is also available for purchase in the Murkoff Store.

In ESCAPE THE FACILITY, Reagents must find Escape Intel Schematics and leave Trials with them in their inventory. Each phase unlocks exclusive rewards for participants, with community milestones bringing the group closer to a possible escape. The campaign runs from Oct. 20 through Dec. 8.

The five-phase reward track includes a Player Icon, Player Border, Cell Poster, and Dreadful Anger Legendary Outfit. Two new MK-Challenges are available in GENESIS: COMPEL THE CHILDREN features in Geister’s first phase, and SANITIZE THE FACTORY appears in its second.

Escalation Therapy adds a tougher endgame tier

Escalation now divides into three tiers, covering Trials 1 through 20, Trials 21 through 30, and Trial 31 onward. A permanent BREAKING POINT Variator begins at Trial 31, combining punishing modifiers, deadly enemies, scarce resources, and no second chances. Rigs also stop recharging. Revive Syringes and Revive Pills can now appear in Intermission item selection, and several Escalation Tasks have been adjusted to fit the revised progression.

The new tiers follow Season 7’s Escalation Therapy 2.0 overhaul, which introduced themed Weekly Escalations and leaderboards.

Favorites and a limited-time sale

Players can mark any customization item as a favorite, then use the Favorites filter in the Cell Customization and Reagent Customization menus to find it more quickly.

Selected Legendary Outfits are 50% off in the Murkoff Black Market through Nov. 3.
