Dead by Daylight Will End Its Denuvo Anti-Cheat Trial on September 15 at 11 a.m. ET

The scheduled update will remove Denuvo Anti-Cheat from the game as Behaviour Interactive reviews player feedback before any future trials.

Dead by Daylight’s Denuvo Anti-Cheat trial will end at 11 a.m. ET on September 15, when a scheduled update will remove the software from the game. The Dead by Daylight Team confirmed the timing in its Steam announcement and said it will review the data and player feedback before any future trials. The initial rollout required Denuvo installation on first launch while leaving cross-play unaffected and retaining Steam Deck and Proton support, as outlined in the initial trial announcement.

The first Anti-Cheat Trial began on Steam on September 2. During the test, players had to install Denuvo Anti-Cheat on their first launch, while cross-play remained unaffected and Steam Deck and Proton support continued.

Players who want to remove any residual files can follow the Denuvo Anti-Cheat removal guide on the Dead by Daylight Player Support website. The scheduled update will end the current trial itself, with information about possible future activities coming later.

Dead by Daylight

Trapped forever in a realm of eldritch evil where even death is not an escape, four determined Survivors face a bloodthirsty Killer in a vicious game of nerve and wits. Pick a side and step into a world of tension and terror with horror gaming's best asymmetrical multiplayer.

Survivors play in third-person and have the advantage of better situational awareness. The Killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their prey.

The Survivors' goal in each encounter is to escape the Killing Ground without getting caught by the Killer - something that sounds easier than it is, especially when the environment changes every time you play.
