Fortnite Squads Can Claim Item Shop Cosmetics Free for 14 Days
One rare chest find grants two 14-day windows, with the first token due for activation by December 15, 2026.
A lucky Treasure-Hunt chest can award Pirate Shop Access, a pair of tokens that lets every member of the finder’s party claim nearly all rotating Fortnite Item Shop cosmetics for free. Each token opens its own 14-day window, one in 2026 and one in 2027, for 28 days across the two periods.

After finding a token, head to the Fortnite Shop and activate it when you’re ready. Each 14-day period begins on activation, as described in a gameplay post shared by ShiinaBR and credited to @snowslept. The first token must be activated by December 15, 2026, so its start date will affect which shop rotations are available during that window.
The offer covers cosmetics appearing in the shop during each window, not the game’s entire back catalog. Real-money offers, pass levels, and pass rewards are excluded. Players can claim one sidekick they do not already own, but items claimed through Pirate Shop Access cannot be gifted, and the treasure is not transferable.

Access remains a rare chest reward, and Epic has not disclosed its drop rate. Fortune’s Fort, Lantern Landing, and Plunder Port are places to search for chests, with each location typically offering a concentration of them. There is no guaranteed way to find a token, and it is unclear how long they will remain available.
A chest-challenge tally shared by Rexium showed 845 of 1,000 treasure chests opened, alongside 40 of 50 progress on rare and Sprite chest challenges. Those counters track challenge progress, not the odds of finding Pirate Shop Access.
Finding Access benefits the whole party. If one player opens a chest and gets the reward, the other players receive it too, whether they are in a squad, duo, or trio. More teammates also mean more people searching for chests.

Treasure Hunters began Nov. 1 as a month-long pirate mini-season, with a One Piece crossover also in the game.
Fortnite’s concurrent player count also neared 5 million across all platforms on Nov. 1. HYPEX’s breakdown put more than 2.1 million players in Battle Royale, more than 615,000 on UGC and Creative maps, and 2 million in lobbies or rotating in and out.
