JOIN US will launch in March 2027 as a sandbox survival game about recruiting followers, building a compound, crafting a belief system, and surviving an approaching apocalypse. Players will be able to form parties of up to 4 while turning a rural American setting into a heavily armed home for their growing cult.
An Xbox Wire feature published on September 3 gives a closer look at the game’s mix of settlement building, social manipulation, combat, and strange supernatural elements. Recruitment begins with conversations around town, supported by flyers that help bring more people into The Infants of Sheep.
Build a compound around your growing flock
The first stage of the compound can include tents, beds, a campfire, and a propaganda station. Supplies gathered around the area will allow players to add more structures and tools, while flexible placement gives the settlement room to grow in whatever direction its leader prefers.
Farming plots and work areas give followers daily tasks, but the Leader will also guide the group through radio messages. A fax machine inside the compound provides objectives and goals, helping players understand what needs to happen next before they are left to manage the settlement on their own.
Beliefs and weapons define the cult’s survival
The Teachings area lets players choose an ideology for the commune. Those beliefs affect how the group develops and open different ways to grow the flock, including direct physical force against people who refuse to join.
Combat is a regular part of life outside the fences. Weapon caches can provide pistols, machetes, and an AK-47, while hostile locals and other armed groups can attack the compound. Peace officers are also dangerous to the cult, which makes careful movement through the surrounding area just as important as gathering supplies.
A party can include up to 4 members for these confrontations, although followers may be lost during a fight and will not return. Vehicles add another option for getting around, with a camper van, pickup truck, and golf cart all available for different kinds of travel.
Body swapping adds another survival tool
JOIN US also gives players a strange way to manage fatigue and hunger. The player can move into another cult member’s body from anywhere in the world, allowing the group to keep going as its membership grows. More followers mean more possible bodies to inhabit, which turns recruitment into a practical survival resource as well as a way to expand the commune.
JOIN US will launch in March 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and cloud. It will be included with Game Pass, and Xbox Play Anywhere will let players access the game on console and PC at no additional cost.
