Xbox Insiders without an active Game Pass subscription can now purchase cloud playtime for an ad-free way to stream supported games. The preview opened Oct. 21, and Xbox plans wider availability in November, according to its announcement.
Introductory packs cost $3.99 for 10 hours, $7.99 for 25 hours, and $11.99 for 50 hours. Purchased time includes shorter wait times and high-quality streaming, and the hours remain available until used.
Players need a supported device and access to a cloud-playable game, either through a purchase or, for select games, free-to-play access. Availability, eligible games, purchase options, and features can vary by market, device, account eligibility, and preview ring.
A separate free, ad-supported cloud test is also available to Insiders, with sessions of up to one hour. Insiders can share feedback on the new paid option through Xbox Player Voice.
Would you pay for ad-free cloud hours, or does the free ad-supported option sound like a better fit? For updates on Xbox’s tests of both approaches, follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
