War Thunder’s 239th Screenshot Contest Runs Through September 4

Six winning entries will each receive 300 Golden Eagles, with three chosen by community ratings and three by judges.

War Thunder players have until September 4 to capture a vehicle in the middle of an explosion for the game’s 239th Steam Screenshot Competition. Shell impacts, nearby bomb detonations, and vehicles caught in a blast all fit the round’s theme, and every winner will receive 300 Golden Eagles.

Gaijin Entertainment shared the full contest rules in its Steam announcement. To enter, upload a new screenshot to the War Thunder Steam Community Hub and use #WTscreen239 as the complete title. No other text can appear in the title.

What qualifies for the Shockwave competition

Every entry must include both a War Thunder vehicle and an explosion. The image also needs to be the entrant’s own work, comply with the game’s rules, and be new. Screenshots that were previously published or entered in another competition will not qualify.

  • Only raw screenshots taken from the game are accepted.
  • Editing software and visual enhancements such as Nvidia Ansel filters are not allowed.
  • Filters and settings built into War Thunder are permitted.
  • The game’s replay functionality can be used to capture the image.
  • Artists can win through popular voting only once per four screenshot competitions.

Once the submission period ends, three winners will come from the highest-rated community entries. Judges will select the other three, giving the competition six winners in total. Gaijin says rewards will be delivered to each author’s account within 14 working days.

Winners from the 238th screenshot competition

The previous round, titled Rapid Advance, also produced six winners. Three were selected through community votes, while three were chosen by judges.

A tank taking a direct hit, an aircraft meeting a missile, or a ship framed by a nearby blast could all make for a strong entry. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
