Marvel’s Wolverine Will Let Logan Fight Through 3 Rage Tiers

The PS5 adventure will also include dozens of Adaptations, Nightmare Cabin activities, and more than 100 accessibility features.

Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on September 15, 2026, and new details give Logan plenty of ways to turn his mutant abilities into a highly customizable combat kit. The upcoming PS5 game will combine aggressive close-range fighting with Rage tiers, unlockable Techniques, collectible-driven upgrades, and a wide range of accessibility settings.

PlayStation shared the details in its feature breakdown, which also includes a trailer narrated by Liam McIntyre, the actor playing James “Logan” Howlett.

Logan’s combat kit is built around momentum

Combat in Marvel’s Wolverine is focused on staying close to enemies and keeping the pressure on. Logan can chain together claw attacks, kicks, barrages, and critical strikes, giving each encounter a fast and forceful rhythm.

Players will unlock new Techniques that add more options to Logan’s moveset. Rechargeable Special Techniques include Tornado Spin, Knee Breaker, and Spiral Strike, while four Special Techniques can be equipped at the same time. That lets players build a loadout around the way they prefer to approach each fight.

Adaptations add another layer of customization. Dozens of these upgrades can make Logan more resistant to gunfire, improve the impact of Rage, widen his parry windows, or make him more intimidating in the middle of a battle.

Rage gives Logan 3 ways to survive a fight

Logan’s Rage is divided into three tiers built around survivability, resilience, and fury. Players can use the system to survive when a fight goes badly or push Logan into a berserk state where defeating enemies helps keep his Rage going.

The result is a combat resource with more purpose than a simple damage boost. A cautious player can use it to endure a difficult encounter, while a more aggressive approach can turn Logan’s anger into a tool for cutting through groups of enemies.

Logan and Jean Grey face a threat to mutantkind

The game’s original story will take Logan around the world as he joins Jean Grey and members of Team X against Bolivar Trask. Trask’s plans target mutantkind, and the group is fighting at a time when too few mutants remain to create safe havens or organized heroic teams.

Villains including Omega Red and Deathstrike will also stand in Logan’s way. Between those battles, players can use Logan’s senses to find optional activities hidden around the game’s environments.

Optional activities unlock memories and gear

Nightmare Doors lead to combat and traversal challenges, while collectible whisky bottles reveal pieces of Logan’s forgotten memories. Material crates provide resources for crafting suits inspired by comics, movies, animation, and other versions of the character.

The wardrobe includes Insomniac Games’ original Battle Reborn suit alongside designs inspired by Weapon X, Old Man Logan, Ultimate Wolverine, and Patch. Logan can also wear more ordinary outfits, including a tank top and a leather jacket. Some cowls and hats can be switched on or off, giving players a little control over his look.

Additional suits are tied to health upgrades and new claw options. The available variants include bone claws, notched claws, curved claws, reflective claws, and angled claws. Outside combat, pressing L2 + R2 will make Logan pop his claws.

Nightmare Cabin adds more ways to play

Logan’s Nightmare Cabin will offer several activities beyond the main story. New Game Plus will add exclusive Techniques and higher Level Caps, while Mission Replay will let players revisit story moments. Nightmare Challenges will track high scores, and Photo Mode will become available through a day-one update.

Marvel’s Wolverine will also include more than 100 new, returning, and improved accessibility features from earlier Insomniac Games projects. Options include High Contrast visuals, English Audio Description, Global Game Speed, and Strong Haptic Signals.

Because Logan’s story is intentionally violent and gory, players can also adjust separate violence and adult language settings. These toggles affect dynamic blood, dismemberment, and English-only adult language. Insomniac has published the full list of options on its accessibility support page.

Marvel’s Wolverine will launch for PS5 on September 15, 2026. Which part of Logan’s combat and customization sounds best to you? Share your thoughts in the comments, then follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, Telegram.
