War Thunder’s F-20A is available at a 30% discount, giving pilots a chance to purchase the premium aircraft for 6,860 Golden Eagles. The offer runs from August 28 at 09:00 GMT through August 31 at 09:00 GMT.
The promotion marks the anniversary of the F-20’s first flight on August 30, 1982. Northrop developed the fighter for mass production, but potential buyers ultimately chose the F-16 instead, leaving the F-20 with a curious place in aviation history.
F-20A sale details
Players can find the aircraft under USA > Aviation > Premium vehicles. The Steam news announcement confirms that the F-20A will remain available after the promotion, but its price will return to 9,800 Golden Eagles once the discount ends.
What the F-20A brings to battle
The F-20A combines high thrust with strong handling and twin 20 cannons. Its air-to-air loadout includes AIM-7F and AIM-9L missiles, alongside support for air-to-air missiles with semi-active radar homing seekers.
Ground Battles give the fighter a different job. It can carry bombs, incendiary tanks, and AGM-65B air-to-ground missiles, giving the returning aircraft tools for both aerial combat and attacks against ground targets.
