Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy has reportedly leaked on PC one week before its scheduled release, with a cracked version allegedly circulating online. A VGTimes report on the alleged leak claims that the game is already being pirated, though the available information does not include a statement from Asobo Studio or Focus Entertainment confirming the leak.
The reported leak arrives seven days before the game’s planned August 27, 2026 launch. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will release on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, alongside PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will also receive access on launch day, and Xbox Play Anywhere support will cover the Xbox and PC versions.
The upcoming game serves as a prequel set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Innocence and A Plague Tale: Requiem. It introduces Sophia as the lead character and places a larger focus on melee combat than the previous entries. The announced release and platform details remain unchanged in the information currently available.
Sophia’s journey takes her to the Island of the Minotaur
Sophia is a young plunderer searching for independence in the dangerous world of the 14th century. Her journey leads to the Island of the Minotaur, where traps, puzzles, difficult routes, and a pursuing army stand between her and the secrets buried there.
Combat will give Sophia a faster and more direct way to survive, with quick melee attacks, blocks, and counterattacks playing a larger role than in the earlier games. The story will move between Sophia’s period and ancient Minoan times, connecting two heroes through the Macula and a strange shared destiny.
Sophia’s notebook will track the route once taken by her crew, while a Minoan sphere will let players manipulate light. The device is tied to an ancient power built into the island by Daedalus and will be used to solve puzzles throughout the adventure.
