Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 just got a U.S. national parks tour with World Update 22, which landed on July 2 as the game marked the country’s 250th anniversary. The free update adds 31 areas of interest, 46 points of interest, three guided tours, and nine discovery flights.
Microsoft built the update with Bing Places, Vexcel, Gaya, and Asobo, then used updated photogrammetry, TIN surface texturing, and digital elevation modeling to sharpen the scenery. The new sweep reaches places such as Arches, Badlands, Big Bend, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Crater Lake, Death Valley, Grand Teton, Mount Hood National Forest, North Cascades, Olympic, Redwood, Sequoia, Theodore Roosevelt, Wind Cave, and Zion.
The new guided-tour mission type also debuts here, with routes over Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Grand Teton. Discovery flights add more stops, including Acadia, Arches, Crater Lake, Dry Tortugas, Everglades, Great Smoky Mountains, Olympic, and Zion.
