Batman’s Next Game Is a Luna Mystery Arriving July 31
Batman: Caped Crusader Chronicles is an 11-episode cooperative adventure for up to four players, launching alongside Season 2 of the animated series on Prime Video.
Batman: Caped Crusader Chronicles will launch on Amazon Luna on July 31, giving fans a new way to step into the role of the Dark Knight. The game will be available exclusively through Amazon Luna and arrives alongside the second season of the Batman: Caped Crusader animated series on Prime Video.
The release gives Batman a starring role for the first time in a major game since 2015’s Arkham Knight. Gotham Knights later brought players back to Gotham, but Batman was not the central playable hero. This new project takes a very different approach from the Arkham games, focusing on detective work and cooperative party play.
What to Expect From Batman: Caped Crusader Chronicles
Batman: Caped Crusader Chronicles is an 11-episode adventure built around detective-based minigames. From one episode to the next, players will decode evidence, follow leads, and face a selection of DC super-villains.
The game supports one to four players in cooperative play. Its cast includes voice performances from members of the animated series’ original cast, including Hamish Linklater as Batman, Michelle C. Bonilla as Detective Montoya, and Matthew Needham as the Joker.
Batman’s opponents include Scarecrow, Babyface, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Dollmaker, Lynx, Music Meister, and the Joker. That lineup gives the game plenty of room for strange cases and colorful encounters, even if it is not aiming for the darker action style associated with the Arkham series.
The game will launch as part of GameNight, Amazon Luna’s growing collection of games. It will be available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium, and Luxembourg at launch.
Amazon Luna also recently announced that the service will be bundled with Prime Video, though the bundle comes with some conditions. That arrangement could put the new Batman adventure in front of a wider audience when it arrives on July 31.
