Robert Pattinson Says The Batman 2 Fight Scenes Have Him Feeling His Age

Filming is taking place in Glasgow ahead of the movie's October 1, 2027 theatrical release.

Robert Pattinson says the physical demands of filming The Batman 2 have him feeling his age, even though the 40-year-old actor still finds the fight work fun.

“I’m definitely feeling my age when fighting a lot,” Pattinson told GQ. “I’m literally like, ‘Goddamn, this is significantly harder than it used to be.’ But it’s really fun. And I think the movie’s going to be pretty great. It’s got a really, really fun cast, but it’s a marathon.”

The sequel is now filming in Glasgow, Scotland, after its earlier October 2025 release window passed without the movie reaching theaters. The Batman 2 will instead arrive on October 1, 2027.

Plot details remain under wraps, although the story will take place a few weeks after the first season of The Penguin. Colin Farrell will also return as Oz Cobblepot, giving Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne another connection to the wider Gotham story established by the 2022 film.

For now, Pattinson is back in the suit and working through the kind of fight choreography that sounds much less glamorous once the bruises and exhaustion arrive. His comments also suggest that the production’s cast and action work have given him plenty to look forward to before the sequel reaches theaters.
