Alleged Persona 1 Remake Footage Looks Polished, but Its Origin Is Unverified
The clip pairs Persona 1 imagery with a Persona 2 character, an animation resembling Persona 4 Revival's, and Unreal Engine debug text, none of which verifies its source.

An anonymous ResetEra thread claims to show a Persona 1 remake with presentation comparable to Persona 3 Reload. The clip appears unfinished, but its appearance does not establish that it came from an Atlus project.
A YouTube account called P1REMAKE posted a clip just under two minutes long showing what appears to be turn-based combat. The footage has also circulated in a Reddit post.
Shadowy purple tones and occult imagery fit Persona 1’s distinct atmosphere, but the clip also features Tatsuya Suou, the protagonist of Persona 2: Innocent Sin. Eriko’s summon animation appears to match Yukiko’s in Persona 4 Revival, which is scheduled for February 18, 2027.
Tatsuya’s appearance could point to a fan-made mashup, though Atlus has used characters as temporary models before. Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, for example, included a model of Persona 2’s Lisa while the team finalized Yuuko’s.
Unreal Engine debug text appears in the footage’s upper-left corner. It may indicate that the engine is running, but it does not identify who made the clip. Fan projects and generative AI also leave room for a convincing fake.
There is a franchise precedent for unfinished footage preceding a released game. Rough footage associated with the project that became Persona 3 Reload surfaced in 2023, but that history does not authenticate this separate clip.
In September, Persona producer Kazuhisa Wada framed possible Persona 1 and Persona 2 remakes as cultural preservation, saying Atlus would probably eventually remake them. His comments did not confirm that either game was in development.
