Escape the Backrooms just hit Switch 2 with crossplay in tow

The Steam announcement says the Switch 2 version matches the PC build and needs a Nintendo Switch Online account for online play.

Escape the Backrooms is now available on Nintendo Switch 2.

The Switch 2 build joins the versions that arrived in May on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Game Pass, and PlayStation 5. The announcement says it has complete content parity with the Steam PC version and supports cross-platform matchmaking.

Online play with friends does come with one catch. Players need a Nintendo Switch Online account to jump into multiplayer sessions on the new console.

The team also said Escape the Backrooms has already passed three million new players across all platforms. That follows a strong run on PlayStation, where Escape the Backrooms took the top spot on PlayStation’s June charts.
