Subnautica 2’s heat-proof upgrade comes from one hidden pod

Players need to clear the second Angel Comb with a Sonic Resonator before the Heat Tolerance Adaptation opens up hotter regions.

Subnautica 2 does not let players wander into every biome from the start. Some areas are locked behind depth, while the hotter regions ask for a very specific Adaptation before you can keep moving.

The answer is the Heat Tolerance Adaptation, and it comes from the game’s second Angel Comb. To get it, players need to clear the Bloom Infestation blocking that pod, then open it after using a Sonic Resonator.

How to get Heat Tolerance in Subnautica 2

Angel Combs are large, plant-like pods that hand out Adaptations tied to survival and progression. The first one lets players eat local fauna and flora, while the second one is the one that lets them withstand higher temperatures.

That second pod is not open by default. It has to be cleansed of the Bloom Infestation first, and the Sonic Resonator is the tool needed for that job. Once the Bloom is destroyed, the Angel Comb opens and rewards the Heat Tolerance Adaptation.

Why the Adaptation matters

Heat Tolerance matters because some of Subnautica 2’s key materials only show up in high-temperature areas. Gold and Sulfur are both found there, and players will need them often as they push further down the tech tree.

Those hotter zones also hide new areas and wrecks, which means more places to scan and more reasons to bring the right setup before heading in.

My job is similar to Angel's, focus on news and updates, even though most of my work is taking care of two little devils. I am here to cover when most needed, and try to deliver the best I can. It's my fault pushing Angel to reboot ConsolePCGaming.com Wish me luck <3.
