ARC Raiders 1.38.0 Adds Torpedo Colors and Tests Matchmaking Changes

The store update is live across all platforms, and owners of the Torpedo outfit receive its Camo and Black color options automatically.

ARC Raiders Store Update 1.38.0 is going live across all platforms on July 21, bringing two new colors for the Torpedo outfit and the start of the Expedition Departure. Embark Studios is also testing matchmaking changes intended to produce better squad and playstyle matches.

The Camo and Black Torpedo colors are granted automatically to players who already own the outfit. No game restart is required. Embark detailed the changes in its official Steam announcement.

The Fourth Expedition departure is also taking place on July 21. Players who are beginning their fourth run can share which Mystery Rewards they received, while Embark’s Fourth Expedition guide explains the process and expected rewards.

Patch Notes: Store Update 1.38.0

This update focuses on new cosmetic options, the current Expedition departure, and a matchmaking test. The matchmaking changes may increase search times as the system looks for squads with closer playstyle and group-size matches.

Store Update 1.38.0 is going live right now on all platforms.
We’re bringing two new colors for the Torpedo set (Camo & Black), which you will receive automatically if you own the outfit.
Same as before, you do not need to restart the game.
The Expedition Departure is happening today as well!

Matchmaking Optimization

We’ve heard your feedback on matchmaking. It works well most of the time, but there is room for improvement — especially during low-population hours, in certain regions, or in specific map conditions. We’re working to improve those cases.

Starting today, we’ll be testing adjustments to our matchmaking algorithm aimed at improving the quality of your matches. One thing to note: the algorithm may take a little longer to find a match, since it’s now working harder to find you a better one.

What does this mean for you? You should run into squads that match your playstyle and squad size even more consistently, making for more fair and enjoyable raids.
