Sulfur in Subnautica 2 is hiding in the hottest waters
Sulfur only appears in Subnautica 2's hotter regions, and players use it to craft Strong Acid, the Repair Tool, and Advanced Wiring Kits.

Subnautica 2 keeps Sulfur tucked away in the hottest parts of the ocean, so finding it is less about random searching and more about knowing when your character can survive the trip.
Sulfur only appears in and around the hotter regions of the game. If you are still early on and do not have the Heat Tolerance Adaptation, the temperature will wear you down fast. Once you can handle the heat, head into those areas, look for the yellow crystalline deposits near the heat source, break them, and move back out before the damage adds up. Even with the adaptation, lingering too long can still hurt.
What sulfur is used for
Sulfur does not go into a long list of recipes, but the ones it supports matter. It is used for Strong Acid and the Repair Tool, and it also feeds into Advanced Wiring Kits, which are used in higher-tier crafting, including vehicles and Dedicated Cores. Compared with materials like Titanium and Quartz, you probably will not need to farm it nearly as often. A few trips into the hot zones should cover most of what you need.
