Valve cleans up CS2 animations, shells, and a startup crash in the latest update
The Counter-Strike 2 patch focused on AnimGraph 2 fixes, smoother movement and animation timing, plus a crash fix tied to non-default audio devices.

Valve pushed a new Counter-Strike 2 update with a heavy focus on animation cleanup, a startup crash fix, and a few quality-of-life tweaks for map guides and dropped weapons.
The patch landed under two main sections, AnimGraph 2 and Misc, and the biggest changes centered on player animation behavior. Valve fixed a string of visual issues tied to reloads, dual Berettas, inspect-cancel behavior, planted-turn states, foot IK transitions, crouch timing, and leg snapping. It also tightened bomb plant animation timing in third person and made a few small viewmodel adjustments.
On the technical side, Valve addressed a random crash that could happen at startup when a non-default audio device was selected in settings or when sound_device_override was specified in a config file or on the command line. The update also refreshed official map guides to match the newer surface smoothing and fixed silenced dropped weapons so they correctly show their silenced state.
