Deadlock’s Violet Can Paint New Routes and Walls Into a Fight
Living Ink blocks players and projectiles, Flow State increases allies' slide distance, and Abstract Landscape punishes enemies who cross its walls.

Violet’s brush can redraw the routes of a Deadlock fight. Living Ink makes walls that stop movement and shots, while Flow State lays down a sliding path for her team. Her kit gives her tools to open routes for allies or make them costly for opponents.
Violet is already playable after her Oct. 16 arrival. Nurse Harrow remains scheduled to complete the six-hero City Never Sleeps rollout on Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. PDT, according to Valve’s Steam announcement.
Living Ink makes brushstrokes physical
Violet’s brush shots travel quickly but fire slowly. Living Ink offers more control, empowering her next 3 bullets so she can steer them through the air. Each hit deals extra bullet and spirit damage, and hitting a hero reduces the cooldowns of all her abilities and items.
While Living Ink is active, Violet can right-click and drag to draw a solid stroke through the air. It blocks characters and projectiles. A heavy melee attack can break the stroke, but the player who lands it takes damage. Violet can use the ink as a doorway barrier or a temporary path to reach an unexpected angle.
Flow State gives allies a moving lane
Flow State sends a brush forward to paint a trail on the ground. Violet and her allies gain extra slide distance along it, and Violet can steer the brush to create a fast route across the map. Enemies hit by the brush or its trail are slowed by 60% for 2 seconds, with the effect fading over that time.
Violet can reactivate Flow State to flick the brush forward, dealing spirit damage in an area and ending the trail early. Higher ranks add stamina regeneration to the slide and raise its damage amplification to as much as 20%, while also improving the cooldown, flick range, and trail duration.
Still Life rewards a sustained target
Still Life lets Violet focus on an enemy within 25 meters and paint their likeness. It deals spirit damage over time while she can see the target. Finishing the sketch adds a damage burst and a 1-second stun. The drawing then falls to the ground, where picking it up grants a permanent stat bonus based on the hero Violet painted.
Upgrades grant health regeneration when Violet casts Still Life and collects a sketch. They can also reduce the target’s damage by 35% while it is being painted, increase Violet’s movement speed, shorten the cooldown, and extend the stun.
Abstract Landscape can seal an escape
Violet’s ultimate, Abstract Landscape, creates an 18-meter-wide circle of tall ink walls. The walls block vision and grant spirit power to allies inside, while revealing enemies caught within the area. Enemies can leave, but crossing a wall shatters that panel, damages them, and applies a 2-second silence and a 30% movement slow.
Higher ranks reduce the cooldown and add spirit power and spirit lifesteal to the buff. They also extend the walls’ duration and silence, with the final upgrade preventing enemies from destroying the panels by walking through them.
