Microsoft Is Hiring to Coordinate Physical Xbox Game Launches

The Xbox Games Supply Strategist will plan global supply across each game's lifecycle, manage inventory goals, and oversee sales execution.

Microsoft is hiring an Xbox Games Supply Strategist to coordinate physical Xbox game launches across platforms. The October 14 job listing places the role on the Xbox Supply Chain team.

The strategist would develop and oversee global supply plans across each game’s lifecycle, position inventory around working-capital, cost, and service goals, and oversee sales and channel execution. The role also covers the process from manufacturing through distribution and tracking sales trends for ways to improve results. Product Marketing, Finance, and supply-chain teams would work with the strategist on supply and sales plans.

The opening makes physical launches part of Xbox’s supply-chain planning, but it does not promise a disc edition for every game or establish how long Microsoft will support discs or what hardware it may offer next.

Does a role with dedicated responsibility for physical-game supply and sales make Xbox’s support for boxed releases feel more concrete? Follow the changing place of physical releases with us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
