Euro Truck Simulator 2 opens 1.59 beta with Benelux rebuild and new driving tools
SCS Software's test branch adds the Benelux rework, the Volvo Trucks Experience Center, Thermo King trailers, and a new Tow to Road option.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 has entered the 1.59 open beta, giving players a first look at a large update that brings the Benelux rework, the Volvo Trucks Experience Center, Thermo King branding for refrigerated trailers, and several UI and gameplay changes.
The biggest change in this beta is the Benelux Rework Release. Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg have been rebuilt from the ground up, with redesigned versions of cities such as Amsterdam, Groningen, Rotterdam, Brussels, Liège, and Luxembourg City. The update also adds new places to haul through, including Antwerp, the DAF Trucks facility in Eindhoven, and the E40 and A2 motorway corridors.
The reworked region also stretches from the Belgian Ardennes to the flat polders and coastal roads in the northern Netherlands, giving the map a wider mix of terrain and road layouts. SCS said players can also find more background on the rework in its Benelux Rework blog archive.
Another major addition is the Volvo Trucks Experience Center in Gothenburg, Sweden. Built in partnership with Volvo Trucks, the location includes a dedicated driving circuit with bends, elevation changes, downhill sections, and tighter corners. It has also been recreated on a 1:1 scale, and players need the Scandinavia DLC to visit it. SCS also linked a post with more detail at its official blog.
The Thermo King Update replaces the unbranded refrigeration units on base game and DLC reefer trailers with licensed equipment. The roster includes the Thermo King A-360, A-400, A-500, SLXi 300, and SLXi 400 units for single trailers, plus the UT-1400R for double-trailer setups. SCS pointed readers to another blog post for more on that change.
