Rainbow Six Siege is reworking its economy before Marketplace comes back

Ubisoft said Season 3 will shift new event packs to R6 Credits, keep Marketplace closed, and give older collections a wider set of purchase options.

Rainbow Six Siege is keeping Marketplace closed for now while Ubisoft rebuilds the trading system and the wider in-game economy around it.

In its update, the studio said the feature had surfaced problems that went well beyond simple trading. Account theft, botting, and credit transfers were part of the security side of the issue, while unstable pricing and distorted item circulation created problems for the economy itself.

Ubisoft said bringing Marketplace back in its current form would reintroduce both sets of risks. The work now centers on stronger account protection, better monitoring tools, and a trading system that fits into a healthier economy.

The bigger economy changes begin in Season 3. New event packs will move to R6 Credits only, and M.U.T.E. Protocol: Flesh & Metal plus Rengoku will be the final events where new collection packs can still be bought with Renown.

Older collections will return with dual-currency options, giving players more room to spend Renown without cutting off access to those items. Ubisoft also said Masterpieces will be easier to buy starting in Season 3, since players will be able to purchase them directly with R6 Credits and get event packs alongside them.

For now, the clear takeaway is that Marketplace is still on ice while Ubisoft works through the security and balance problems behind it. The studio said its immediate focus is on gameplay improvements while that longer rebuild continues.
