Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 7 Is Live With Air Races and Marine Traffic
Version 1.9.18.0 adds the National Championship Air Races, live marine traffic, and fixes across aircraft, career, airports, and avionics.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 7 is now available as version 1.9.18.0. The update brings the National Championship Air Races to the Activities menu, adds live marine traffic to Career and Discovery modes, and fixes issues across aircraft, career features, airports, and avionics. The Sim Update 7 release notes also include a new Ground Services app for the EFB. The first Sim Update 7 beta build, version 1.9.10.0, reached enrolled players on September 11, ahead of the races’ scheduled October 13 arrival.
The National Championship Air Races had been scheduled for October 13, alongside Sim Update 7, and are now available in the game. The activity’s earlier schedule was covered in the October 13 announcement.
PC players should also check their Community Folder if they run into instability or long loading times. Older packages in that folder can affect performance or behavior, and the recommended step is to move them elsewhere before relaunching the simulator.
Beyond the headline additions, the update adjusts race activity features, adds Lufthansa liveries for the Airbus A310-300, A320neo, A321, and A330-300, and includes a broad set of aircraft and navigation changes. The Boeing C-17 Globemaster III receives a custom electronic flight control system and expanded autopilot functions. A revised 10% margin above Vne also changes when excessive speed can trigger a crash.
