Los Angeles will get a one-night Gears of War: E-Day event on September 30, when Hollywood & Vine becomes the setting for an Emergence Day takeover. The Coalition detailed the plans in an Xbox Wire announcement.
From 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., attendees will find an Emergence Hole and a Corpser statue at the Los Angeles location. The first 500 guests will have a chance to play Gears of War: E-Day before Premium Edition early access begins on October 1. The game’s worldwide launch is scheduled for October 6.
What guests can do at the Emergence Day event
Access will be first come, first served for guests who are at least 18 years old. Queuing can begin at 12 p.m. Pacific on September 30, and people wearing Gears of War merchandise will receive access to a faster line.
Visitors can try themed food, treats, and beverages while also collecting prizes and giveaways. The event will include airbrush Gears of War tattoos and a photo booth, giving fans a few ways to leave with more than just a game session.
Cosplay and series merchandise will also be part of the prize setup. Attendees dressed for the occasion could win an Xbox Design Lab Gears of War: E-Day controller created with illustrator Luke Preece, whose artwork also featured on the previously announced controller collection.
Because the event is tied to an M-rated game, the 18-and-older rule applies to everyone attending. With only 500 guests able to access the experience, arriving early will be the practical choice for anyone hoping to play before the October 1 early access window.
