Gears of War: E-Day Gets an RTX Spotlight With DLSS 4.5 and RTX Mega Geometry

The Coalition confirms PC support for DLSS 4.5, RTX Mega Geometry, Ray Reconstruction, and ray tracing, with footage captured on an RTX 5090 at 4K Ultra but no performance figures or PC requirements.

Gears of War: E-Day is set to bring a broad slate of NVIDIA-focused visual features to PC when it launches on October 6, 2026. The Coalition’s official Steam announcement confirms planned support for DLSS 4.5, RTX Mega Geometry, Ray Reconstruction, and ray tracing.

The August 26 Xbox Wire feature originally spotlighted DLSS 4.5 and RTX Mega Geometry. The Coalition’s announcement adds the missing PC context, with Studio Technical Director Kate Rayner and Rendering Lead Mike Perzel discussing how the version is being built around NVIDIA’s rendering technology.

The announcement presents those features as tools for higher frame rates, improved image quality, and more responsive controls. Its showcased footage was captured on a GeForce RTX 5090 at 4K Ultra settings, with RTX Mega Geometry, DLSS 4.5, Ray Reconstruction, and ray tracing enabled.

That footage gives the feature set a concrete showcase, but it still does not provide frame-rate comparisons, PC requirements, or recommended settings. The practical performance impact will have to wait for a fuller technical breakdown or hands-on testing.

Gears of War: E-Day remains scheduled to launch on October 6, 2026, for Xbox and PC. Players who pre-purchase the Premium Edition can start up to five days early. Our campaign preview covers the story setup, including younger versions of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the Locust invasion.
