Frost Death Knight just grabbed the spotlight in WoW’s week 5 raid logs
In the Mythic bracket, the most played spec also sat at the top of the performance board, while Heroic stayed steadier than Mythic.

The week before the next round of class tuning already brought movement to World of Warcraft‘s 12.0.5 raid data, and Frost Death Knight came out looking strong. In Mythic, the most played spec also finished as the best-performing one, which gives Week 5 a pretty clear headline of its own.
These rankings use normalized Warcraft Logs scores rather than raw DPS. That matters because some fights can let certain specs pad numbers through heavy AoE or other outlier damage patterns, which can skew the overall raid picture.
Mythic
Population looks locked in for now, with the only changes in the top 10 happening in the final three spots as Elemental, Balance, and Fury trade places. Shaman ended the week at the top of the popularity chart, while Warrior slipped to 10th. The top three specs each gained roughly a thousand players, and the lower end of the bracket even picked up a bit more raid traffic, including a few hundred extra Mages.
On the 95th percentile damage chart, Frost took first back from Survival by a narrow margin. Windwalker held onto third, Marksmanship moved up to fourth, and Frost Mage and Subtlety also climbed. Demonology slipped a couple of places, Destruction took a harder hit and fell 10 spots to 14th, and Devourer led the Demon Hunter side before Arms closed out the top 10.
In the all-percentiles view, Frost Death Knight also took the generalist lead. Subtlety moved into third, Marksmanship rose to fifth, Unholy climbed two spots to seventh, and Windwalker eased down to ninth.
The boss-only chart kept the Death Knights in front, while Assassination and Subtlety gave the rogue side a strong showing near the top of the field.
The Mythic boss-by-boss breakdown covered Lightblinded Vanguard, Crown of the Cosmos, Belo’ren, and Midnight Falls.
Heroic
Heroic moved less. The first change in the top 10 did not show up until ninth place, where Shadow passed Balance for the penultimate slot. The top five stayed the same, Affliction nudged upward, and Demonology held steady at the end of the top group.
For readers tracking class balance more broadly, our World of Warcraft spec rankings for Midnight help put these raid numbers in context. This week’s logs suggest that popularity and performance are lining up more closely than they have in some previous updates.
