Fallout 4’s Detour mod turns an overpass near Bedford Station into a small settlement with merchants, a sheriff, quests, and the Detour Degens, a gang players can join. More than a dozen characters have voiced dialogue, and the project says it was made without AI, according to its Nexus Mods page.
Detour gives players a few ways to build a reputation around town. The sheriff offers bounty work, while merchants need help recovering stolen goods. The gang’s jobs are a little more personal: its two available members want their leader freed from a jail cell in the sheriff’s office, roughly 15 feet from their turf.
Players can approach the leader’s escape in more than one way. Another task involves tagging spots around town with the Degens’ emblem, which leads to a criminal job. The job hits a snag before ending well for the crew. Completing it lets the player join, bringing the gang from three members to four.
