Counter-Strike 2 beta build tightens AnimGraph 2 animations and ladder behavior
Valve's latest Counter-Strike 2 beta update focuses on animation fixes in AnimGraph 2, plus a ladder movement adjustment and a warning about mixed builds.

Valve pushed a new Counter-Strike 2 beta update for the animgraph_2_beta build on April 14, 2026, with the work centered on animation fixes, menu poses, and a small movement tweak. Players who want in can follow the beta opt-in steps through Steam Support, and Valve said bug reports or feedback should go to [email protected] with the subject line AG2 Beta.
Counter-Strike 2 Update
The biggest changes here land in AnimGraph 2, where Valve addressed pose problems, cleaned up weapon swaps, and added missing knife draw animations. The patch also fixed a ladder issue that let players climb down faster than intended, and Valve warned that the client may throw a fatal error message if it tries to connect to a server running a different build.
