Zul'Farrak is in the mountains northwest of Gadgetzan in Tanaris. Unlike the dungeons hidden behind long cave systems, this approach leads towards a large troll-city entrance at the edge of the desert.
Location at a Glance
- Zone: Tanaris
- Level guidance: 44-54
- Version: World of Warcraft: Forever
How to Reach the Entrance
- Reach Gadgetzan in northern Tanaris and prepare for the run there.
- Travel northwest towards the mountain pass and the Zul'Farrak approach around 39, 20 on the Tanaris map.
- Continue through the entrance to the instance portal and gather the party before heading into the city.
Alliance and Horde Travel
Gadgetzan is a convenient staging point for both factions once its flight path is available. Parties arriving from Thousand Needles should continue into Tanaris before turning towards the northwest mountains, rather than following the route down into Un'Goro Crater.
Before You Go
Do not confuse access to Zul'Farrak with access to every optional event inside. In the Classic layout, summoning Gahz'rilla involves the Mallet of Zul'Farrak; that item is not a requirement simply to cross the dungeon entrance.
Tell the group if you need a particular quest or the Gahz'rilla event, and check the necessary items before leaving Gadgetzan. The map shows the mountain approach at zone scale rather than pretending to map the route between bosses inside the city.
