Wailing Caverns is beside Lushwater Oasis, southwest of the Crossroads in the Barrens. The large cave entrance gets you into the approach tunnels; you still need to walk through them to reach the dungeon portal.

How to Reach the Entrance
- Head southwest from the Crossroads towards Lushwater Oasis.
- Find the cave approach around 46.0, 36.3 on the Barrens map and enter the large opening in the rock.
- Continue through the non-instanced tunnels with your group until you reach the instance portal. Do not mistake the outdoor cave mouth for the start of the dungeon.
Alliance and Horde Travel
Horde groups can start from the Crossroads. Alliance groups can reach Ratchet by boat from Booty Bay, or travel south from Ashenvale, then cross the Barrens towards the oasis. Ratchet is a useful meeting point if your party is arriving from different continents.
Before You Go
There are enemies and branching paths before the portal. Wait for everyone at the cave mouth, then move through the approach together instead of asking late arrivals to follow a map pin that cannot show their height underground.
Check your quest log before leaving the nearest settlement. When someone says they are at WC, clarify whether they mean the oasis, the cave entrance or the actual instance portal. That small distinction avoids a surprisingly long wait.
