Gears of War: E-Day’s two-week event for the franchise’s 20th anniversary is underway, with limited-time modes and rewards. Xbox’s anniversary announcement says players can log in on November 7, 2026, to claim RAAM as a free multiplayer character.
The limited-time Versus mode is Guardian, where only one leader makes it out alive. Horde Siege’s For the Queen disables the Supply Cache, leaving the squad to rely on its loadouts.
The Coalition also used the anniversary to celebrate the community around Gears, recalling multiplayer friendships, family campaign traditions, and players who said the games helped them through loss or isolation. The developer connected those shared experiences to the series’ themes of loyalty and brotherhood.
Season 2: Legacy Starts Dec. 1
Season 2: Legacy, scheduled to begin December 1, 2026, will revisit Gears history through returning maps, modes, and multiplayer skins. One new look is Solemn Memories Dom, which puts Dom in the suit from the well-known Gears of War 2 photo of him and Maria.

In July, the Coalition outlined a five-season multiplayer plan beginning with Season 1: Emergence. Legacy is the next announced step.
