War Thunder’s Italian Holiday Event Offers 2 Half-Price Tanks and a Decal Trophy

Earn 3,000 mission points with Italian vehicles at Rank III or higher to claim the trophy, with the task open through Nov. 7 at 11:00 GMT.

War Thunder’s Italian National Unity and Armed Forces Day event is underway, with the P40 “G.C. Leoncello” and M43 “G.C. Leoncello” each 50% off through Nov. 7 at 11:00 GMT. The event also offers a trophy for earning 3,000 mission points in battles with Italian vehicles at Rank III or higher. Gaijin’s Steam announcement places both offers and the trophy task from Nov. 4 at 11:00 GMT through Nov. 7 at 11:00 GMT.

The Nov. 4 observance marks Austria-Hungary’s surrender in World War I, after which Italy incorporated Trento and Trieste, completing its unification. Italy has observed the day since 1919, though it has not been a public holiday since 1977.

Two Italian tanks cost half as much

The Rank II P40 “G.C. Leoncello” costs 575 Golden Eagles, while the Rank III M43 “G.C. Leoncello” costs 650. Both are available under Italy > Army > Premium Vehicles.

The P40 was produced in a limited run of about 100 units. Its sloped armor, HEAT and capped armor-piercing rounds, coaxial 8 mm machine gun and smoke grenades make up its listed features. The compact M43 is a rare self-propelled gun whose HEAT shells can penetrate the frontal armor of most opponents. It is best kept out of enemy sight, with smoke available if it is spotted.

Earn the trophy with Italian vehicles

To earn the “Italian National Unity and Armed Forces Day” trophy, collect 3,000 mission points in battles using Italian vehicles at Rank III or higher. The task runs through Nov. 7 at 11:00 GMT and can be completed in random battles, except for Assault. Once the task is finished, claim the reward manually. Progress appears in the hangar under Nickname > Achievements > Holidays > Italy’s National Unity and Armed Forces Day.

Each trophy awards one of 4 previously available decals: “Italy’s National Unity and Armed Forces Day,” “The Heart of Italy,” “Bersaglieri Cockade” or “Italian Unity.” They appear in the Holidays section of vehicle customization. If you already own all 4, the trophy instead awards one of these rewards: a 20-50% Research Point booster for 3-10 battles, a 20-50% Silver Lion booster for 3-10 battles, 3-5 universal backups or 1 day of Premium account time.
