Carenado’s $19.99 Saab 340B Brings Passenger and Cargo Flying to Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)

Both configurations include SprintAir, Regional Express, and White liveries.

Carenado’s Saab 340B is available now in the Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) Marketplace for $19.99. Microsoft’s Saab 340B announcement confirms the release includes Passenger and Cargo variants.

Both versions come with SprintAir, Regional Express, and White liveries. In real-world configuration, the twin-turboprop aircraft uses a two-person crew and can carry up to 34 passengers or 7,500 pounds of cargo, giving the simulator’s two variants distinct roles.

The Saab 340B’s real-world performance includes a range of 1,047 miles, a service ceiling of 25,000 feet, and a maximum cruise speed of 326 mph. Its two General Electric CT7-9B engines deliver up to 1,870 shaft horsepower each and turn four-blade, constant-speed propellers.

The 340 prototype first flew on Jan. 25, 1983, after Saab and American aircraft maker Swearingen developed the design. Saab later introduced the 340B with more powerful engines and a redesigned tail, improving on the earlier 340A’s range and high-altitude performance.
