Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) automatically received AIRAC Cycle 2610 on October 1, and the 2024 edition also got airport updates, according to the simulator team’s October 1 weekly briefing.
The Airbus BelugaXL, previously available only in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, is now available in the 2020 edition’s in-sim Marketplace for $19.99. It is a specialized cargo aircraft, and its arrival brings the plane to the older simulator as well.
The briefing also revisited Aircraft and Avionics Update 06, which upgraded the Junkers F 13, Junkers Ju 52, Dornier Do X, Dornier Do J Wal and Dornier Do 31. Existing owners get the improvements at no extra cost, while each aircraft costs $14.99 for players who do not already own it.
Public testing for Sim Update 7 remains underway. The briefing also pointed players toward the return of the National Championship Air Races. A September roadmap had targeted Sim Update 7 for October 13, with a recreated course in Roswell, New Mexico, and the new STOL Drag class among its planned additions.
