The Elder Scrolls 6 Could Get a Sentinel Subtitle Around Skyrim’s Anniversary
The Verge says Microsoft may reveal the name around Skyrim's 15th anniversary on Nov. 11, while the setting is not expected to be announced at the same time.

Microsoft could announce the full name of The Elder Scrolls 6 in November, with Sentinel reportedly part of it. A report from The Verge says the reveal may come around Nov. 11, the 15th anniversary of Skyrim, and focus on the title alone. Neither Xbox nor Bethesda has confirmed the name or timing.
The Verge’s report places the game in Hammerfell, but says the region is not expected to be announced with the title. The story is described as examining the history of the Elder Scrolls and uncovering the secrets of ancient artifacts. Sentinel has a connection to the rumored setting: it is one of Hammerfell’s nine major kingdoms and the name of a capital city in the region.
Fans had already connected Sentinel to an eight-asterisk reference from Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, which Bethesda matched in its response. Another fan clue comes from an employee number in Starfield’s character creator, which fans have decoded as SENTINEL by splitting it into two-digit alphabet positions. Neither clue confirms Bethesda’s choice. In August, former Bethesda developer Michael Kirkbride replied “Yep” to a fan suggestion of the name, but his response was not an official confirmation. The earlier Sentinel theory covers the clues and Kirkbride’s reply.
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma saw a live playthrough during her August 11 visit to Bethesda, but that was not a public gameplay reveal.
